Ashley Zimmerman BSN, Director of Nursing
Sunterra Springs would like to welcome Ashley Zimmerman to our team as the Director of Nursing. With a strong desire to serve others, Ashley decided early on that she wanted to pursue a carrer in healthcare. In high school, she earned her CNA through a vo-tech program and began working for Mercy as soon as she graduated. She has spent her last 16 years in both clinical and leadership positions; serving patients in both acute and post-acute settings in the Springfield area.
Ashley’s nursing experience includes medical telemetry, ICU, nurse management, inpatient rehab and a clinical liaison. She has been involved in many projects/committees that focused on finding ways to provide the highest quality of care and advocating for nurses, patients and their families. In her most recent years, she built strong relationships between hospitals and post-acute care centers working as a liason.
It was in 2013 when Ashley found her love of rehab by working for the Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital. It's always so amazing to see patients admit into a facility after a traumatic event, then be able to restore their level of functioning where they can return home, many times independently. That is the reason she is so excited to work at Sunterra.
Ashley graduated from Mercy School of Nursing with her associates in 2008, then Bachelors in 2012. She was then nominated to the Mercy Executive Cohort and received her Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration in 2015 from Missouri State University.
